Historically, much of the front line was occupied by large detached villas with easterly sea views. While a handful remain, many have gradually been replaced by apartment developments. Mercadona is the nearest major supermarket, while public schools in the Port, Arenal and Old Town are all within easy reach. Xàbia International College and Lady Elizabeth School are typically around fifteen minutes away by car.

Is Bahía de Jávea Right for You?

Bahía de Jávea is best suited to buyers who want a flat coastal location between the Arenal and the Port, with easy access to the sea, walking routes and apartment-style property. It is a strong option if you want a practical coastal base without being directly in the busiest parts of either beach or harbour area.

If you want sandy beach access, restaurants and more holiday atmosphere, Arenal may be a better fit. If year-round life, cafés and marina access matter more, the Port is also worth comparing. Buyers looking for quieter villa areas with more private outdoor space may prefer Cap Martí, Tosalet or Piver.

What I noticed during this drive

This route follows the Montañar coastline between the Port and the Arenal. One thing that stands out immediately is how many people use the area on foot or by bicycle throughout the year. The dedicated cycle lane runs alongside much of the route and the seafront promenade is busy with walkers, runners and residents going about their day.

Unlike many of Javea's villa urbanisations, Bahía de Jávea feels relatively flat and easy to navigate. Much of the original front-line housing has been replaced by apartment developments, and the area now offers some of the most walkable living in the town.
