Javea is not a single uniform town. It is made up of distinct neighbourhoods and surrounding settlements, shaped by geography, elevation and proximity to either the coastline or the Montgó mountain.

Some areas sit directly along the bay, others stretch inland behind the Arenal, while several neighbourhoods and villages are positioned around the foothills of Montgó. Understanding this layout makes it easier to narrow your focus before exploring individual area pages in more detail.
Below is a geographic overview of the main areas in and around Javea.
Montgó & Mountain Settlements
These areas are positioned around the Montgó massif and its foothills. They generally offer larger plots, quieter surroundings and a mix of traditional homes and detached villas, with the mountain forming a defining backdrop.
Bay & Coastal Core
This is the central coastal spine of Javea, running from the harbour through to the main beach area. Properties here are typically apartments, townhouses and homes within walking distance of the sea.
Cap Martí & Residential Belt
Located behind the Arenal and extending inland, these established residential zones are characterised by detached villas and mid-density housing, with easy access to both the coast and the wider area.
Eastern Coastal & View Zones
Positioned along the eastern and southern coastline, these neighbourhoods are known for sea views, cliffside villas and proximity to coves and natural scenery.
Inland Villa Belt
Further inland but still within the wider Javea area, these neighbourhoods are defined by larger residential plots and a quieter environment away from the busier coastal zones.
Each area has its own page with more detailed information about its setting, property types and local context.
